As a teacher, it is my desire to share whatever I know about watercolor with my students - not to have them paint like me, but to enable them to express in their own magnificent ways. 2 or 3 Days, Saturday and Sunday, January 24 and 25, optional Monday....

Using instructor provided photos or your own, we'll uncover all the secrets to painting ellusive light, including cool winter light with warm shadows - and the mysteries of painting night.


$250/person plus tax.

Includes 2 nights cabin accommodations at Ranchito San Pedro, all instruction, continental breakfasts, some materials and open use of Jan's teaching studio and library. Each cabin accommodates 3 people comfortably. $50 deposit insures your place on a first come basis.

Note: Optional additional full day in the studio with extra night, Monday, January 26 for $75.00 plus tax. Includes late afternoon critique/consultation with Jan.

We'll welcome Spring with Color! Join Jan to learn about watercolor pigments and color relationships in your choice of subject matter - florals, landscape, figurative. Plus - some special pigments that are sure to enhance your paintings.

Painting the Colors of Fall

Join Jan for this very popular 3 or 4 day workshop in the height of New Mexico's cottonwood colors. We'll explore some special sites along the Chama river and around Ghost Ranch. We'll take in the autumn air and photograph the colors so that we can express our visions in the studio. Some special pigments are included so that we can master the cottonwood in full color.


$395/person plus tax.

Ghost Ranch
     

On The Trail of O'Keeffe

at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico

 

   

Join Jan & Carol in this very popular week long workshop at Ghost Ranch, beloved first home of Georgia O'Keeffe in New Mexico. This high desert land of piñon, sage and multicolored cliffs with sky above blue and crystal clear remains much as it was in the 30's, when Georgia O'Keeffe first explored the landscape. We'll discover the trail she walked each morning to the dry waterfall and we'll listen each night to the chorus of coyotes serenading the ranch. Prepare to immerse yourself into watercolor and the magic that is Ghost Ranch. Minimum number of participants 6; Maximum 15. Your space is reserved with a deposit of $200. 2003 Fall session sold out by April - so register early to reserve your spot

$995 plus tax, includes 6 days of watercolor instruction, 7 nights in a double occupancy rustic cabin on the mesa, all your meals at the ranch plus a tour of O'Keeffe's Abiquiu home, if possible.

  • Private Critique Consultation w/ Jan - $35/session - 1 hour
  • Painting, Plein Aire w/ Carol - $25/half-day/person. Carol paints plein aire all around this area and knows the spots that are special and safe.

What is your Tax and Cancelation policy?
    Tax & Cancellation Policy for all Jan Hart events. N.M. Gross Receipts tax must be added to all events occuring in New Mexico. Spaces are reserved on a first deposit received basis. Once your place has been reserved, there will be a non-refundable cancellation charge of $75 prior to 75 days before the event. The cancellation fee for less than 75 days before the event will be charged according to esxpenses incurred. No refund less than 30 days before the event unless a replacement participant is registered. We reserve the right to cancel any event, in which case we will make a full refund. Any refund due will be paid within 30 days after the event. Thankyou.
