| A typical day at Ghost Ranch begins with breakfast in the dining hall and then meeting in the studio at 9. I usually have a lesson with slides and demo followed by painting, outside or inside, depending upon the individuality of the group. More advanced students may want to go off and paint where they wish; others will paint nearby where I can answer questions, etc. After lunch in the dining hall, we paint or hike, or..... We generally meet again in the studio late afternoon before dinner for positive critique. Some days we'll pack our lunches and carpool to nearby places - Echo Canyon, Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu... It is pretty informal - and always respectful of the individual participant's preferences. Carol will be availalble to thake those who wish out for her favorite way to paint - en plein aire. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Certainly! You can bring along a friend to share your double-occupancy room. The charges are the same per person except for instruction, which is subtracted from the total amount. There are plenty of things to do at Ghost Ranch and nearby - photography, museums, horseback riding, hiking, 24 hour access to Ghost Ranch's wonderful library, climbing, etc..... | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Yes. The Dining Hall and cooking staff at Ghost Ranch do a wonderful job providing healthy and tasty food, which always includes a Vegetarian entree. Fresh salads from the garden for lunch and dinner and homemade yogut and granola at breakfast are generally offered. | |||||||||||||||||||||

I limit the
number of participants to 15 maximum so that I can give one on one attention
to all. Included in the workshop is a voluntary private consultation devoted
entirely to your special strengths and weaknesses.

| Yes. Ghost Ranch charges an additional $20/person/night for a private cabin on the mesa in the camp style cabins with shared toilets and showers. If you'd prefer to have semi-private (shared with another room) or private bathroom - we try to find you accommodations in the main area of the Ranch. The charges are an additional $20 to $40/night/person respectively. I generally prefer the accommodations on the mesa for the incomparable 360 degree views and quiet, but make every effort to be sure you have the accommodations you prefer when possible. |

| Most workshop participants arrive at the Ranch in a car which they have driven from home or rented for the week at the Albuquerque airport. Whenever a person prefers not to drive, we find others in the workshop who are willing to share their vehicle. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Any kind of painter you already are. This workshop is for those who want to take the next step, whatever it is. If you are a beginner, you start there. If you are an experienced painter, you'll find plenty to challenge and excite you here. My job is to guide the process and make it safe to experiment and explore with lots of fun included. If you paint in oils or pastels, you are still welcome to join us and enrich all of our experiences in this wondrous and magic place! Carol will be available to take those who wish - out en plein aire.
